There are situations in which your data are collected by WineScience. This privacy statement describes how that happens and how this data is managed.

2. Purpose data
Your personal data is collected by WineScience for a number of purposes. These goals are explained below:
2.1. Sending newsletters
WineScience sends newsletters via e-mail. These newsletters are on the one hand commercial and on the other hand aimed at knowledge sharing. Your first name, last name and e-mail address are collected via the appropriate form on the WineScience website. In addition, you may be asked verbally or textually to register.
Your data is collected when you contact WineScience via the website. This form only asks for your first name, last name and e-mail address in order to respond to your comment, suggestion, question or request.
2.3. Google Analytics
The WineScience website collects visitor information to improve the website. This is done with Google Analytics. This data is anonymous and is not tied to your personal data. In addition, Google Analytics has been set up in accordance with the guidelines of the Dutch Data Protection Authority (see also link) in order to optimally guarantee the privacy of website visitors. You should think of the use of anonymous IP addresses and turning off data sharing for Google products.
2.4. Google adsense
The personal data that WineScience receives and processes from you are managed through:
The newsletters are sent with Mailchimp. The moment you sign up for the newsletter, your e-mail address is automatically stored in the designated contact list within Mailchimp.
3.2. STRATO and Gmail
The WineScience email is hosted by Strato and forwarded to Gmail. If you contact us via the contact form or by e-mail, the relevant e-mails will be stored on the servers of Strato and Gmail (Google).
3.3. STRATO and Google Drive
The WordPress website is hosted by STRATO. Backups from the website are stored on Google Drive. Data and comments that you leave on the WineScience website are therefore stored on the servers of STRATO and Google.
3.4. Google Adsense
4. Storage period
Your data will be stored by WineScience for a longer period of time, but never longer than is necessary for carrying out the activities below, unless we are required to keep your data longer by virtue of a legal regulation.
4.1. Sending newsletters
Your e-mail address is stored in Mailchimp. The storage of your data is for an indefinite period. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of the newsletters, or by sending an e-mail with a deregistration request to email@example.com.
The moment you contact WineScience via the contact form or by e-mail, the data you send – such as your first name, last name, e-mail address and / or company name – will be stored on the mail servers. These e-mails are stored up to two years ago.
4.3. Google Analytics
The data that Google Analytics collects on the website is anonymous, and is not linked to your personal data such as your first name, last name, email address or IP address. This data is stored for an indefinite period of time within Google Analytics.
4.4. Google Adsense
You can only delete data collected through cookies yourself, as they are stored on your personal device. You can unsubscribe from personalized advertisements by removing the cookies in your browser and adjusting the cookie settings of WineScience.org (see the information box at the bottom left of the website). You can also adjust your cookie preferences on Google ads settings and / or on aboutads.info.
Your personal data is only managed in the aforementioned systems and software. No physical copies are made of your data. In addition, the personal data, which are managed by WijnWetenschap or by the aforementioned third parties, are only accessible through the above software and are protected with a password and where possible with two-step verification. With this two-step verification, a code is generated from the software and sent to WineScience. This code must be used during the login process. The devices that open your data are also each locked with a password and / or fingerprint. The number of devices that have access to your data is limited to only the required devices.
Finally, your visit to the winescience.org website is secured by an SSL certificate. This means that your connection to the WineScience website is private. You can recognize this protection by the green lock before the URL.
6. Your rights
You have a number of rights regarding your personal data that are managed by WineScience. These are listed below. You can make use of these rights by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org where you, for verification, contact through the contact details with which you are registered with WineScience. The aim is to respond within a week.
6.1. Right to view
You have the right to request at any time your details that are recorded and stored at WineScience. You can do this by sending an e-mail or by contacting WineScience by telephone. You will then receive an overview of your data.
6.2. Right to rectification
Is your information incorrect? Or have your details changed? You have the right to have WineScience rectify this. You can change your information about the newsletter via the appropriate URL at the bottom of each newsletter.
6.3. Right to submit a complaint
You have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority if you believe that WineScience does not handle your data correctly. This is possible via this link.
6.4. Right to transfer
If you need the data stored at WineScience in the event that you switch to another party or service, you have the right to transfer. Herewith, WineScience must transfer all your data to the other party.
6.5. Right of objection
If you do not want WineScience to use your data (longer), you can object to the use of your personal data by WineScience.
6.6. Right to delete data
Do you no longer want your data to be registered with WineScience? Then you have the right to have your data deleted.
WineScience processes personal data on the grounds of a legitimate interest, namely an informational or commercial interest. This includes offering services or products from WineScience via e-mail. Your information will never be sold to third parties.
The data that are required to deliver are the minimum data required for offering the services or products. For example, your e-mail address is required to send the newsletter. If this mandatory information is not supplied, WineScience cannot offer the relevant service.
If it is necessary to share data that you have shared with WijnWetenschap with others than the parties mentioned above (for example, to offer a service), your permission will first be requested.
WineScience reserves the right to disclose the information when required to do so by law or where WineScience considers it justified to comply with a legal request / process or to protect the rights, property or safety of WineScience.
